shows you the Marriott Kingsgate Conference Center in thelower left corner. This is where rooms have been reserved for attendees.
Parking is available beneath the Center, and a free shuttle service is right
outside the Center, on Goodman Drive. To get a shuttle to Langsam Library,
cross Goodman Drive to the pickup spot.
Also note Procter Hall, in the lower left corner.Clicking on the West Campus map
http://www.uc.edu/architect/documents/Logistics/logisticsbw.pdf
shows you the main UC campus. Note that Procter Hall is in
the upper right corner, establishing the close proximity between the Medical
and the West campuses.
(For instance, if you were to walk from the Marriott Centerto Langsam Library, it would take about fifteen minutes. You can typically walk
that distance in less time than the shuttle will take if you have to wait a few
minutes for the shuttle. But in mid July, you might prefer the less vigorous
method of transportation, especially since shuttles are air conditioned. And
shuttles run every 8 to 10 minutes, so you’d never have much of a wait.)
Here’s a map of the shuttle route, also showing therelationship of the two campuses:
http://www.uc.edu/af/documents/facilities/CTS_Map_Main-Eden.pdf
These are the relevant stops: #6 to travel to Langsam
Library, #3 to get off at the Marriott Center, #2 to get on or off for Langsam
Library. In the middle of the West Campus map, near the center,
you’ll see Langsam Library, with its main entrance being on the south side. If
you enter Langsam there and go straight to to the back of the building, you’ll
find the Center for the Enhancement of Teaching & Learning (CET&L).
This will be our base of operations during the INCEPR meetings. There are
small-group meeting spaces in the CET&L center as well as elsewhere in
Langsam, and we will also have access to a computer lab.Another resource on West Campus is Tangeman University
Center (near the center of the map, a bit to the left, next to the
horseshoe-shaped football stadium). Tangeman (or TUC) is the location for
various food-court options of the fast-food, franchise variety. This is a bad time to visit Cincinnati if you are a baseball
fan: it’s the All Star break for both the Cincinnati Reds and also the Florence
Freedom, a minor-league team that provides a wonderful baseball experience.Other main Cincinnati highlights:

Inter/National Coalition for Electronic Portfolio Research
The Inter/National Coaliton for Electronic Portfolio Research convenes research/practitioners to study the impact of eportfolios on student learning and educational outcomes. Each year ten institutions selected through an application process constitute a three-year cohort. Each campus works on an individual project that asks "What learning is taking place as a function of electronic portfolios?" and "How do we know?"
